The Mysterious cult film from Australia’s new wave seventies cinema was adapted from Joan Lindsay’s bestseller book, that was allegedly based on a true story. On Valentine’s day in the year 1900, a group of boarding school girls go for an excursion to the geological formation Hanging rock. During the excursion, four of the girls mysteriously disappear. This piece by famous Australian director Peter Weir is drenched with a mysterious dream like atmosphere that not only convincingly portrays the Victorian era, but also made the geological formation Hanging Rock famous.
