Ali is the musically gifted and slightly neurotic child of a very popular Muslim Cleric who has moved to Australia from Iraq. Torn between two different worlds – Australia and Iraq, Ali strives to live his own life, while also satisfying the expectations of his family and community. Innocent lies trigger a catastrophic series of events, that quickly get out of hand. They culminate with Ali falling in love another women, when he already has an arranged bride. The comedy tries to show another side of the Australian muslim community and is based on the memoir written by Osamah Sami, who also plays the lead role.
