For the thirteenth time, we’ll present Australian and New Zealand cinematography in Prague cinemas. On Friday, November 6, we’ll kick off with the premiere of Australian-Irish detective comedy Stephen Burke, Chasing Millions, inspired by a real bank robbery in Belfast. Flip through the full program, but in this text, we would like to mention two films in particular.
Talking fox that grants wishes?
“The Fox, from Danger 5 co-creator Dario Russo, is definitely up there as one of the weirdest and most wonderful films to come out of Australia in recent years. A truly bonkers experience that you will never forget, as well as a poignant farewell to the great Sam Neill.”
Ryan Keating, Edison Filmhub Project Manager
Don’t miss this slightly bizarre tale on Sunday, November 8, from 5:30 pm, as a talking fox (Olivia Colman) offers help to a desperate Nick and promises that if he lets her go, she will make his partner, Kori, perfect.
Documentary about the emigration from Czechoslovakia and a discussion with the director
Director Barbara Chobocky will come on Saturday, November 7 at 8:30 pm to Ponrepo cinema to present her documentary Maria, in which she returns to the life story of her mother, who left Czechoslovakia after the rise of the communist regime and found a new home in Australia. She will take part in a discussion after the screening, and you will be able to ask her anything that interests you.
But we’ve prepared much more for you. See you in the theatres!
