As a special teaser to the 11th Australian and New Zealand Film Festival in November, we will be screening the Australian film Sweet As (Krajina uvnitř) on Thursday, 19 September 2024 at 7pm at the Edison FilmHub cinema. You can buy tickets here.
The 11th AKFF will take place 15-20 November 2024 at the Lucerna and Edison cinemas.
Accompanying Events
We will also screen the film Sweet As this autumn and winter as part of our screenings and talks for schools (which we have held since 2020). The screenings are intended for level 2 students of primary schools as well as secondary school students. There will be materials and handouts about the movie available for teachers on request. The screenings will be held in collaboration with the Association of English Teachers of the Czech Republic.
But that’s not all. We are also preparing an exhibition titled Inspired by Australia by the Dot by Dot gallery which you will be able to view from 11 November to 15 December 2024 at the Champagneria bar (Průchodní 4, Prague 1). Selected works will be presented by Koko (Helena Brychová) and Lucy (Lucie Grohmanová), who share a love of fine art and who have been inspired by the indigenous art of First Nation Australians to create their own paintings with abstract and natural themes.
